Truth be told, I wanted to be a marine biologist when I first enrolled at Rutgers University. Sharks fascinated me, but, when I approached my professors about how to get involved in actual research, I was told “Nobody’s studying sharks. Pick something else.” Shortly thereafter, I got bitten by the paleo bug. I don’t consider that a bad thing. :)
Well, I still have Burgess Shale envy. Or Ediacaran envy. Either. Both.
