Friday Cuteness

Last week, a curious California sea lion pup wandered into the welding shop at Scripps Institution of Oceanography in La Jolla, CA. El Nino years can be rough on marine mammals and seabirds – warmer waters means less food, and entire generations of pups and chicks have starved to death. However, this little guy is reported to be doing fine at the Sea World rescue center. Maybe he just wanted to become an oceanographer like his elephant seal brethren.
