  1. The deep sea is dark. Some fishes throw out bacterial strains that are luminescent (glow brightly). Small fishes are attracted and approach the glowing microbes. The big fish eat up the small fishes: an example of feeding by the deep sea animals.

  2. It is facinating to know that these glowing and pure bacterial strains of the fishes do not allow other bacterial cultures to thrive. This is possible only because they produce toxins/antibiotics that kill other non glowing microorganisms. Ain’t it exciting!
