Why I Believe in PLoS One

At the PLoS One Community blog I discuss why I joined PLoS One, believe in the open access mission, and contemplate how we view a paper’s novelty.

  1. Great interview, Dr. M!

I was surprised to read that you grew up in Arkansas. Where ’bouts?

I grew up in Rogers, AR in the Ozarks (though my first years were in Texas).

  2. Nice interview. The Census of Marine Life collection should be a coup for the journal PLoS One, and for you personally, Craig. Many people will probably have their first exposure to open access publishing when that volume comes out. As Lubchenco would say, the idea’s time has come.
