Her Deepness, the Sturgeon General, is in the house! National Geographic Explorer Dr Sylvia Earle posts her own Earth Day fantasy “I wish I was a turtle” at Conservation international blog, in honor of the Great Turtle Race.
Meanwhile, in the Western Atlantic, Backspacer nears the finish line. Billy appears to be stuck in place. Race commentator Rowdy Gaines has indicated the failure is due a transmitter malfunction. Let’s hope nothing terrible happened. Seabiscuit is a close third.
