New Scientist is showing some of their favorite picks in natural history category of the Sony World Photography Awards. This one is a favorite, entitled “Bait ball symphony # 1″ by Alexander Safanov.

  I love those swirling vortices of schooling fish … I could watch video footage of that all day … beautiful and mesmerizing

  I never get tired of seeing bait balls of schooling fish getting annihilated, especially by tuna. mmmm tuna…
